SecretDrive: Keep Your Privacy

Containers

Container is a data storage that can be located either in file or in random access memory (RAM).

After file container is created you can mount it as a virtual disk. The most great benefit of the file container is to hold your private data. You can backup your container file on a regular basis and nobody can get access to your private data without password knowledge.

On the other hand RAM container exists only while it is mounted. After unmount operation all the data it holds will be destroyed. Encrypted RAM container may be useful as a temporary storage of some secret data.

Container consists of two chunks of data: security header and encrypted data area (Figure 1).

Security header keeps sensitive binary data used by SecretDrive to perform encoding/decoding operations.
